Mumbai. The management of Star Sports India has today lauded Indian cricket team’s performance in the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup and thanked them for giving them sufficient number of matches, the highlights of which they claim can be run for next 100 years at least.
Of late, management at Star Sports was a bit worried and wondered if they made a wrong decision by dedicating so many channels only to cricket. There were lots of doubt over their survival as Indian team was on a losing spree and the channel was falling short of matches to re run where India had dominated the opposition or won an excitingly close game.
“That’s precisely the reason we thrust repeat telecasts of India-Pakistan 2007 world cup final on our viewers every time India lost a match, or when we had nothing else to show,” an employee of Star Sports revealed.
Brace yourself to witness this scene for many more years to come.
Viewers were getting bored and not enjoying the reruns with same energy. Many had even switched to DD Sports, insiders from the Star Network told Faking News.
But now the channel is confident that these 4 matches that India has won on the trot so far are enough to take care of India’s defeats in future tournaments and the channel’s 24/7 schedule for many more years to come.
“Now India can very well chose to lose the rest of the matches in this world cup without bothering about backlash from fans back home,” the CEO of Star Sports India said, “We promise to ensure that fans would forget these losses by quickly plugging in reruns of these matches, even before the first abuse has been hurled at Indian team.”
Star Sports is reportedly also planning a new innovation to keep the viewers happy, by immediately stopping live telecast of the match that seems to be slipping out of India’s hands and instead plugging in these matches.
The channel experimented with this technology during yesterday’s match against Australia when India was struggling after losing 4 wickets with Yuvraj and Dhoni on crease, but had to revert to live telecast after Yuvi allegedly regained form.
Meanwhile Bangladesh division of Star Sports has been waiting for years for its cricket team to win at least one significant match, the repeats of which they can then show to the viewers again and again.
